Andrew Dela Cruz | Filipino Catholic Illustrator, Creative Director, and Co-Founder of KatoLago 

Mission

Andrew Dela Cruz is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of KatoLago Foundation, which develops free Catholic faith-formation resources for children and families. As the principal illustrator of KatoLago, he creates the visual storytelling behind its catechetical materials, illustrating all KatoLago children’s books, worksheets, and Gospel animations that help young readers encounter prayer, the sacraments, and the life of the Church.Through his work in sacred art and visual catechesis, Andrew helps translate Catholic teachings into accessible illustrations that support storytelling, devotional life, and catechetical formation for children, families, and parish communities.

He is registered illustrator with the National Book Development Board (NBDB).

Books and Catholic Publishing

Andrew serves as the illustrator of the catechetical books published through KatoLago, including Liyab: Puspos sa Apoy ng Espiritu Santo, Agos: Binyag sa Banal na Tubig ng Buhay, and the titles Daan ng Krus para sa Kabataang Pilipino.

The book Agos: Binyag sa Banal na Tubig ng Buhay was recognized as a Finalist for Best Children’s Story (Print) at the 46th Catholic Mass Media Awards, while the titles Daan ng Krus para sa Kabataang Pilipino were recognized as Finalists for Best Special Feature (Print) at the 45th Catholic Mass Media Awards.

All catechetical books published through KatoLago Foundation carry the Imprimatur of H.E. Most Rev. Roberto O. Gaa, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Novaliches, affirming their fidelity to Catholic teaching.

The KatoLago website has received multiple recognitions from the Catholic Mass Media Awards, including Best Website at the 47th Catholic Mass Media Awards, following earlier distinctions as Finalist and Special Citation in the website category.

Andrew also illustrated MyPAD Mini: Prayers and Dialogues with God, published by Sibol Publishing, Inc., in editions for adults and children.

Service and Formation

Andrew Dela Cruz is actively involved in the life and mission of the Diocese of Novaliches. He serves as a member of the Core Team of the Novaliches Diocesan Renewed Evangelization and Integral Formation.

He also contributes his expertise as Creative Consultant for Ecclesiastical Arts at Kristong Hari Parish – Shrine of the Youth, assisting in projects that integrate sacred art into parish evangelization and catechetical formation.

Andrew was part of the Synodal Coordinating Team of the Diocese of Novaliches, accompanying the synodal process through its Metropolitan and Regional phases. Together with his wife and fellow KatoLago co-founder, Ricci Parto-Dela Cruz, he is currently involved in the 2025 Holy Year Diocesan Committee for the Jubilee Year of Hope.

He graduated from De La Salle University with a double degree in Bachelor of Elementary Education, Major in Early Childhood Education, and AB Psychology.

Personal Life

Andrew Dela Cruz is married to Ricci Parto-Dela Cruz, with whom he co-founded KatoLago Foundation. They have three children: Ysa, Koko, and Oreo.
